  Preston Innovations Festival 2006

Welcome to the 2006 Preston Innovations Festival, this is our most prestigious festival of our yearly calendar as the top twenty-four finalists then go on to fish in the one day £25,000 Parkdean Masters Grand Final on Saturday 14th October.

This is a qualification only festival and anglers must earn their place in the festival by fishing in the final the previous year, finishing within a certain position on our spring/autumn festivals or by winning one of our weekly resident/rover matches. There are a few new faces for this weeks festival whist others are staying for their second week, I hope they are all recovered enough from the weekends festivities to face a weeks fishing!!

This week’s festival is a sell out with 180 anglers fishing in 5 sections on Pollawyn, Bolingey, Twin Oaks/Acorn/Nelsons, Porth & Gwinear.

It has been a very cold and wet weekend here in Cornwall and a lot of rainfall has gone into the lakes. Twin Oaks, Acorn & Nelsons weren’t in the festival last week so it is an un-known to all of us, the rest of the lakes have has a slight rest over the weekend so lets see how they fish this week.

Day One
It rained torrentially throughout the early morning but managed to stop in time just as everyone was surfacing for the draw. The day one draw was full of its usual tension and excitement as everyone gathered into the club for their brief on the week. Clint went over all the details ensuring everyone was aware of the rules and allowances and then the draw got started.

'A' SECTION POLLAWYN
Pollawyn fished well last week with some areas fishing better than others, to make the sections fairer we have changed the pegging slightly for this festival hopefully giving everyone an equal chance of collection vital section points.

Stay tuned for the action from day four; will they above names still be in the top 24?

So that was day four – who does the top 24 look?

So we have another chop and change around in the top positions and no one on maximum points. This festival is going to go right down to the wire and even we cannot predict who will be in the top 24, those currently with 33 points are almost guaranteed their place but the points between 8th and 40th positions are so tight that we would be in for a shock line up in the final.

The names of the anglers fishing in the 2006 Parkdean Masters £25,000 Grand Final will be posted by 8.30am tomorrow and their draws will be posted by 10.30am.

Good luck to all the anglers fishing today, come back tomorrow to find out this years line up.
