CATS CREAM FOR GRANT
IT was another big payday for superstar angler Grant Albutt as he showed
his class to win the 178-angler White Acres ABU Spring Festival with
a maximum points score of 36 points. Grant dropped his opening days section third from Porth then went on
to record four straight section wins and that was enough for the £3000
winners cheque.
Marston Green based Grant won last Octobers Skol festival but agonisingly
missed out on the £25,000 winners prize in the Skol final but showed
he was back at his best in the ABU event.
Going into the last day Grant needed a final match section win at Gwinear
to guarantee the victory and week long festival leader Harry Billing
to miss out on a final day section win.
Daiwa Dorking grouped Grant not only won the section at Gwinear 28 but
the lake with 119-13-0 of caty food caught carp but for Harry (Keenets
Northwest) he could only count the cost as he missed out on a section
win by one small carp on Trelawney.
On the second day Bolingey peg 10 was the scene of Grant's first section
win where he pole fished cat food a t 11 and 13 metres tempting 52-8-0
of carp to 6 lb.
Moving onto Pollawyn pools peg 36 another section win came to long pole
at 15 metres and luncheon meat producing 57-0-0 of carp and skimmers.
