White Acres Coca Cola Preston Innovations Intermediate festival 2011
  Fishing Information call 01726 862519

There are 20 Intermediates fishing the festival this year, a few regulars that have fished the festival have now passed the age limit and we are seeing some of them fishing in our main festivals now whilst some new names have come up form the junior age bracket.

For the past few years we have always used both sides of Twin Oaks for the festival but this year to make it a bit different for the keen young anglers we are using one side of Twin Oaks and Acorn. Acorn is a bit of an unknown entity to most of the entrants as they have not fished the lake before so they have been busy practising there for the last few days and it has been fishing well. It has been mixed in practise on Twin Oaks with some anglers catching and some struggling so we shall just have to see what happens.

Our generous sponsorship once again comes from Coca Cola and Preston Innovations. The £500 we get from Coca Cola is combined with the entrance money from the intermediates to make up the prize packages and the goodie bags that Preston Innovations have provided for all the competitors are phenomenal. It is so encouraging to see that Preston are backing the anglers of the future with these amazing bags of products which would retail at nearly £200 each!

Day One

A Section Twin Oaks 1-18
Despite a tough time in practise Twin Oaks fished well today with reasonable weights coming from across the lake and all the anglers netting decent bags of fish. The lake win went to Chris Pentland who was on peg 3; Chris caught on the method with 8 mil pellet on the hook and weighed in with 114lb 13oz. Second with 93lb was Daniel Warman, Daniel caught on the method from peg 9. Kieran Wood on peg 11 weighed in with 91lb 3oz to take third, Kieran caught mainly on the pole in the margins with pellet. Harry Wykes on peg 14 had the next best weight; Harry weighed in with 87lb 1oz and caught on the method and in the margins with meat and pellet.

Chris Pentland peg 3 5 points 114lb 13oz
Kieran Wood peg 11 5 points 91lb 3oz

B Section Acorn
It was also a good day on Acorn and although there were not a load of stand out weights it was tight across the two sections with the anglers close on weights with their nets of fish. Today's lake winner with a weight of 67lb 8oz was Jamie Worthington; Jamie was on peg 17 and caught on the pole down the edge on meat and corn. Second on peg 1 was Richard Kendrick, Richard caught on the long pole with meat for a weight of 58lb 9oz. Today's section winners are off to a flying start with maximum points and good weights but the others are snapping at their heels and as it is only a two day festival it is still all to play for if some of the anglers that didn't fair too well today get a good draw tomorrow. Will we see a festival winner on maximum points? The anglers will swap over lakes tomorrow so they have a fair idea of the pegs they would like to draw and the methods being use to catch so watch this space for the latest update and to find out who will be the White Acres Coca Cola/Preston Innovations champion 2011.

Day Two

Day two started with the annual photo shoot for all the anglers fishing the festival, hats and tee shirts generously provided by Coca Cola we handed out to all the intermediates and then the hardest task was getting them all to smile for the picture!

After the photos it was time for the draw, the sections rotated today so the anglers had a good idea where they would like to draw. As the anglers drew their pegs they also collected their amazing goodie bags that had been provided by Preston Innovations.

With the pegs drawn they were ready for the off, it was another scorching day for the young anglers and we had high hopes for some top weights today.

A Section Acorn
It was another reasonable day on Acorn with good weights that were close across the two sections for the overall results and section points. Daniel Warman on peg 19 was the lake winner today with 71lb 4oz, Daniel caught on the pellet feeder with meat on the hook. Jake Gallagher weighed in with 67lb 9oz to take second, Jake caught down the edge on the pole with pellet and corn from peg 17.Third was Thomas Moretti, Thomas was on peg 6 and caught 2 lumps on the method feeder to the far bank with meat and the rest shallow at 13 meters for a total weight of 57lb 2oz. 55lb 12oz was the next best weight on the lake and this came from Kieran Wood on peg 13, Kieran caught on the pole at 16 meters with pellet and in the margins with meat.

Another close festival but with a fantastic performance over the two days and maximum points our 2011 Coca Cola Preston Innovations Intermediate champion is Richard Kendirck, as well as his goodie bags and haul of prizes Richard has also been given the opportunity to come back and fish the Preston Innovations Festival in October and also take part in our Winner Week Mini-Festival.

It has been a fantastic couple of days and a great group of anglers fishing, as this year has gone so well we have decided to extend the festival in to a 3 day event for 2012.

Once again thank you to Coca Cola for sponsoring the event and we cannot thank Preston Innovations enough for their generosity with their support this year as well as goodie bags for all we also had enough prizes to give to the top ten!

Thank you once again to the anglers that fished for making it such a good festival and also congratulations to you all especially our top three Richard Kendrick, Daniel Warman and Elliot Fay

Many Thanks, Kirsty
