Winners Week Festival 2010
Fishing Information call 01726 862519
This event is fished by our gold, silver & rover match winners plus those anglers that had a lake win on a Wednesday on one of our main festivals. There are 52 anglers taking part this year and will be fishing in rotation over the three days on Pollawyn, Twin Oaks & Trelawney.
Each year White Acres rewards our match winners and some festival lake winners with a free holiday and a 3 day mini festival to fish for £1000 prize money.
Some of the anglers fishing have been here for three weeks now, whist others are on there second week or are just arriving for the first time since there match win. This week - despite fishing for £1000 - is a lot less pressurised and is a very friendly event with banter flying around the banks during the day and in the bar at night!
Day One
For this mini-festival we always do a random draw on the first day with all the pegs for the three lakes going into the hat so not only are the anglers drawing their peg for that day but their draw will also determine their fishing rotation for the week.
It has warmed up slightly down here over the past few days but the wind has increased and the threat of rain is imminent. All three lakes that we are using have been used for the previous festivals but with a couple of days rest over the weekend we should see some reasonable weights being caught.
A Section Pollawyn
Reasonable weights recorded on Pollawyn and the weights were spread out across all of the pegs, a couple of the anglers really struggled but as a whole it fished quite well. The lake winner with 72lb 1oz was Rob Minikin on peg 24, Rob had some on the pole with meat but most of his fish were caught on the bomb & feeder with pellet. Andy Geldart on peg 20 was second, Andy caught on the pole at 6 meters with meat for a weight of 58lb 13oz. Third on peg 27 was Andy Bailey with 57lb 3oz, Andy caught shallow on the pole at 14.5 meters with meat.

Join us tomorrow to find out who the White Acres Winners Week 2010 Champion is,
Day Three
A break mid-week gives the opportunity for the anglers to have a day off, a day out with the family or for some another days fishing as they fish the residents match and then it is back to the final day of the festival.
With the previous results throughout the week the anglers know where they fancy drawing today but obviously there can only be one person on each peg so a lot is going to come down to luck at the draw bag
The points and weights are too close to call at the moment so a good or bad day for the top ten today could be make or break them, read on to find out who is the White Acres Winners Week Champion 2010 and walks away with the £1000 prize money.

The final day gave us a few twists and turns with some of the names in the frame loosing points and others gaining so it kept it exciting down to the last minute.

This week is a great celebration of all our match winners and has a great atmosphere, thank you and well done to the anglers that took park and hopefully a win next year will see some familiar names in the line up for the 2011 festival.
Cheers, Kirsty
