Garbolino Mosella Winter Festival
Fishing Information call 01726 862519
'Winter' festival is the best description this year with the anglers arriving to snow & frozen lakes! Like the rest of the country we have suffered with the worst November weather conditions imaginable and at one point it was touch and go as to if we could still run the festival.
The 60 anglers fishing the festival this year were meant to be fishing Pollawyn, Jennys, Trelawney, Python / Sycamore & Twin Oaks but due to the weather conditions there was a slight change for the first day that is also subject to change for the rest of the week.
Day One
Monday morning was spent frantically breaking ice and re pegging the sections to allow the anglers the best chance of catching as possible.
A Section Pollawyn
There was a vast difference between the two sections on Pollawyn today with those anglers in the middle of the high bank catching but on either end it was a totally different story with 4lb winning the section and two anglers blanked! Callum Dicks was the lake winner on peg 26 with 30lb 7oz, Callum caught on the long pole with maggot over groundbait. On peg 15 Andy Dare weighed in with 28lb 3oz to take second, Andy caught on groundbait & pinkie. Third was Steve Winters, Steve was on peg 17 and caught on groundbait and dead maggot for a weight of 24lb 5oz. Mark Turner had the next best weight on peg 16 with 20lb
Section Winners
Callum Dicks peg 26 6 points 30lb 7oz
Clint Elliott peg 29 6 points 4lb 1oz
B Section Jennys
Despite being one of the most frozen lakes Jennys fished the best and most consistently today and produced the best overall weights on the festival so far, with the lake being one of the shallowest and most exposed it tends to get the ice first and even towards the end of the match it was starting to freeze over again. Timmy Row weighed in with 39lb 10oz to take the lake win from peg 9, Timmy caught on corn. Second with 34lb 4oz was Chris Hancock. Chris was on peg 8 caught as far out as he could with worm and caster over groundbait and also had a line fishing dead maggot he ended up with 20lbs of F1's and the rest skimmers and roach. Third was Jon Arthur on peg 20, Jon had 4 F1's the rest were roach that he caught on maggot and caster for a total weight of 26lb 11oz. Jack Valkenburg had the next best weight on the lake with 19lb 6oz from peg 6.
Section Winners
Timmy Rowe peg 9 6 points 39lb 10oz
Jon Arthur peg 20 6 points 26lb 11oz
C Section Trelawney
Trelawney was one of the most frozen lakes on the complex and we thought that it was going to fish the hardest but given the circumstances the weights weren't too bad today and it was one of the only two lakes that some one didn't blank on. Grant Albutt won the lake today with 39lb 3oz; Grant was on peg 25 and caught on the pole with maggot. Second went to Steve Waters on peg 10 with 36lb 7oz, Steve caught on pinkie. Third went to Micky Vials, Micky caught on maggot from peg 23 for a weight of 29lb 5oz. Harry Billing on peg 15 had the next best weight with 24lb 1oz.
Section Winners
Grant Albutt peg 25 6 points 39lb 3oz
Steve Winters peg 10 6 points 36lb 7oz
D Section Sycamore
Sycamore was one of the lakes that had a change today as we had intended only to put 6 anglers on the lake and split it with another section but as it turned out we had to put all 12 anglers on the lake. It was a mixed result with some anglers really struggling and even a couple of blanks but in others areas where the anglers drew on a peg where the fish were shoaled up they managed a bit of a weight. Adam Wakelin was the lake winner today with 35lb 2oz; Adam was on peg 14 and caught on the waggler with maggot. Second on peg 10B was Dean Kenworthy, Dean caught on the waggler with caster for a weight of 34lb 5oz. Third with 23lb was Lee Edwards, Lee was on peg 12 and caught on the pole and waggler with caster. Paul Newall on peg 6 had the next best weight on the lake with 12lb 6oz.
Section Winners
Adam Wakelin peg 14 6 points 35lb 2oz
Paul Newell peg 6 6 points 12lb 6oz
E Section Pollawyn/Python
This section was meant to be on Twin Oaks but due to the fact the back roads to the lake were icy and that we ran out of time breaking the ice on the other lakes we had a last minute change and split the section with an extra 6 pegs on Pollawyn and 6 on Python. All apart from one of the pegs in the section of 6 on Polly fished really hard but it was a bit better on Python once the ice had been cleared away. Mark Harper was the lake winner with 18lb 5oz, Mark was on Pollawyn peg 24 and caught 3 skimmers long and the rest was perch caught down the edge on caster. Second with 17lb 12oz was Mick Kearns, Mick was on Python peg 13 and caught on worm. Paul Glenfield on Python peg 14 was third, Paul caught on worm and weighed in with 11lb 2oz. The next best weight came from Boz Phillips on Python peg 16 with 7lb 9oz.
Section Winners
Mark Harper peg 24 6 points 18lb 5oz
Mick Kearns peg 13 6 points 17lb 12oz
So that was day one of the festival and after the weigh in the anglers were keen to pack up quickly so they could go back to the lodges and defrost!

Day Two
The conditions were no better today with further ice on the lakes; it was all hands on deck with the fishery team braving the freezing weather to clear the pegs where the anglers would be fishing. The draw time was put back to allow us to clear the lakes and then it was a staggered draw for those lakes that were clear drawing first.
We reduced the fishing time today by half an hour and also altered some of the pegging so we were still trying to give the anglers the best opportunity possible.
A Section Jennys
With the boys into a routine of clearing the ice Jennys was fairly clear today and once again fished well. This is one lake that the anglers are relying on for a good weight to boost their overall results. The match winner today with 33lb 1oz was Callum Dicks; Callum was on peg 18 and caught on the long pole with maggots and groundbait. Clint Elliott on peg 5 was second, Clint caught on the pole at 13 meters with dead maggot over groundbait and weighed in with 26lb 6oz. Third on peg 20 was Steve Winters, Steve weighed in with 25lb 4oz and caught 180 fish on punched bread. Cameron Hughes on peg 19 had the next best weight with 24lb 8oz.
Section Winners
Callum Dicks peg 18 6 points 33lb 1oz
Clint Elliott peg 5 6 points 26lb 6oz
B Section Trelawney
Trelawney fished reasonable well again today considering it is one of the lakes that have been affecting most with the ice but the tackle shop team have cleared the pegs the anglers are fishing and provided them with a clear channel to fish. Derek Hammond on peg 28 was the lake winner today with 26lb 14oz. Dave Pickering weighed in with 21lb 13oz to take second, Dave was on peg 23 and caught on the pole with maggot. Third was Dan Varney, Dan was on peg 10 and caught at 13 meters with maggot for a weight of 21lb 3oz. Mark Warren had the next best weight with 18lb 1oz, Mark was on peg 25 and caught on the pole with maggot.
Section Winners
Derek Hammond peg 28 6 points 26lb 14oz
Dan Varney peg 10 6 points 21lb 3oz
C Section Sycamore
It was another very tough day on Sycamore with none of the anglers able to 'buy a bite' whilst fishing the pole but those anglers that were able to chuck a waggler managed to catch a few fish. The lake winner today with 39lb 3oz was Steve Waters; Steve was on peg 10B and caught on the waggler with maggot. Second on peg 5 was Tommy Pickering, Tommy caught 50 roach on the waggler with maggot for a weight of 9lb 8oz. Third with 7lb 8oz was Micky Vials, Micky was on peg 3 and caught 40 roach on the waggler with maggot. The next best weight came from Giles Cochrane on peg 6; Giles caught on the waggler with pinkie and weighed in with 4lb 4oz.
Section Winners
Steve Waters peg 10 6 points 39lb 3oz
Tommy Pickering peg 5 6 points 9lb 9oz
D Section Pollawyn/Python
Another very hard day for the anglers fishing the Pollawyn pegs in this section - this lake usually fishes well in the winter but in this cold weather the fish are having none of it and the anglers are really struggling for bites. Python on the other hand is fishing better with fair weights across the six pegs. Steve Mayo on Python peg 11 was the lake winner with 14lb 4oz, Steve caught on the long pole with groundbait and dead red maggot. Second with 13lb was Ricky Teale, Ricky caught on the pole with maggot from peg 12. Third on peg 14 was Dean Kenworthy, Dean caught on the pole as far out as he could with red maggot and weighed in with 12lb 12oz. The next best weight was 12lb 10oz and this came from Lee Edwards on peg 15, Lee caught on the long pole with maggot.
Section Winners
Steve Mayo peg 11 6 points 14lb 4oz
Darren Cox peg 19 6 points 3lb 3oz
E Section Pollawyn
This section of Pollawyn is also fishing incredibly hard, with all but a few pegs in the centre of the section really struggling, the fish are so tightly shoaled together if you draw in the area you will land a few fish but other than that in this 'peggy' situation it is proving to be a struggle for the anglers. Terry Winter was today's lake winner with 22lb 7oz; Terry was on peg 25 and caught on the pole with groundbait and maggot. Second was Andy Moors on peg 26, Andy caught on the long pole over groundbait and weighed in with 20lb 8oz. Third was Mark Harper with 11lb 2oz, Mark caught at 13 meters with dead maggot over groundbait from peg 15. The next best weight came from Ian Shepherd on peg 18 with 6lb 13oz; Ian caught roach late on with maggot.
Section Winners
Terry Winter peg 25 6 points 22lb 7oz
Steve Hemmingray peg 27 6 points 5lb 13oz

The results this week are set to look like a roller coaster track with the draw bag being a key element in this festival. Three anglers at the moment are tied on maximum points but with it only being six points for a win this will narrow up the results across the week and the points are already close after two days.
We have once again had a very cold evening but as we start day three the ice has not been as bad as the previous mornings. The boys got ahead of themselves this morning by starting to clear the pegs at 7am but these had started to re-freeze by the start of the draw so it was a last minute dash to re-clear the pegs. It is windier today so the anglers have a bitter day ahead of them. Join us tomorrow for the mid way results to see if there are any clear favourites to take the festival win.
Day Three
The hardy festival goers woke up to another heavy frost today and although we have missed the snow that has caused chaos to the rest of the country we still have bitter temperatures.
The boys were back out on the lakes breaking the ice again but at one point were facing an on-going battle as they were starting to re-freeze already!
It is the half way point today and it will give us more of an idea who is in line to take one of the top positions and for some who know their festival is over they are still admirably fishing on in these shocking conditions.
Those lakes that have been fishing better produced good weights again today whilst others fished harder than in previous days with the coldest temperatures and bitter winds yet.
A Section Trelawney
This was the lake producing some of the top weights of the festival again today and although the anglers in the lower numbered pegs didn't fair as well as in previous day there were two anglers who had a right battle producing the two best weights of the week so far. The start of the match was put back by 15 minutes on Trelawney today as the pegs had started to re-freeze. Simon Fry on peg 29 was the match winner today with an impressive 43lb 9oz, Simon caught on the pole at 11 meters with maggot. Second just narrowly behind with a weight of 42lb 5oz was Clint Elliott, Clint was on peg 28 and caught at 11 meters with dead maggot over groundbait and a sprinkling of squatt. Callum Dicks was on peg 25 and was third with 28lb 3oz, Callum caught on the pole with groundbait and maggot. The next best weight came from Trevor Vernalls on peg 15 with 19lb 5oz, Trevor caught on double pinkie feeding squatt with a pinch of groundbait.
Section Winners
Simon Fry peg 29 6 points 43lb 9oz
Trevor Vernalls peg 15 6 points 19lb 5oz
B Section Sycamore
It was a tougher day on Sycamore today and even the pegs that had been throwing up a few bites didn't fish today. The fish have really backed off on this lake and the pegs in the lower numbers especially are suffering with a number of anglers blanking. The anglers that are managing to have a few fish are all catching on the waggler as the way it is fishing it is not really worth setting up the pole. Dan Varney was today's lake winner on peg 14, Dan caught on the waggler with maggot for a weight of 25lb 3oz. Second with 5lb 9oz was Dave Pickering, Dave caught down the edge on worm from peg 10C. Third on peg 12 was Tony Morton, Tony caught on the waggler with maggot and weighed in with 5lb 5oz. The next best weight was 3lb 8oz and this came from Derek Hammond on peg 6, Derek caught on the waggler with maggot.
Section Winners
Dan Varney peg 14 6 points 25lb 3oz
Derek Hammond peg 6 6 points 3lb 8oz
C Section Pollawyn/Python
It was close for the anglers on Python with all bar one angler getting into a double figure weight but once again it was a totally different story on Pollawyn. The section we are using on Pollawyn is the one that fishes hardest which is why we had originally taken it out on this festival but as Twin Oaks is in-accessible we have unfortunately had to use it. Tommy Pickering easily took the section win as he was the only angler to weigh in! The lake win came from Harry Billing on Python peg 12 with 22lb 2oz, Harry caught at 13 meters with maggot over groundbait. Second was Kian Wardle, Kian caught on double pinkie and maggot over groundbait from peg 15 Python for a weight of 16lb 11oz. Giles Cochrane weighed in with 16lb 11oz to take third, Giles caught on the pole with pinkie from Python peg 13. The next best weight came from Tommy Pickering on Pollawyn peg 19 with 13lb 13oz; all Tommy had for 4 hours was 1 gudgeon but in the last hour managed to catch 5 skinners and 1 F1.
Section Winners
Harry Billing peg 12 6 points 22lb 2oz
Tommy Pickering peg 19 6 points 13lb 13oz
D Section Pollawyn
It was also another tough day on the main section on Pollawyn with the anglers at either end of the lake struggling as the fish are balled up in the middle of the high bank pegs. Winning the lake today with 24lb 3oz was Steve Mayo; Steve was on peg 25 and caught on the long pole with groundbait & maggot. Second on peg 26 was Paul Newall with 14lb 2oz, Paul caught on the waggler with maggot. Third went to Gary Hamilton, Gary was on peg 18 and caught on the waggler with maggot for a weight of 11lb 14oz. Stewart Lister on peg 17 had the next best weight on the lake with 8lb 1oz, Stewart caught at half depth on the waggler with maggot.
Section Winners
Steve Mayo peg 25 6 points 24lb 3oz
Lee Edwards peg 28 6 points 2lb 6oz
E Section Jennys
Jennys is the one lake that despite being frozen over each morning is still producing the most consistent weights. The anglers face a battle towards the end of the day as the ice starts to re freeze and their fishing area gradually decreases! Jennys is one of the most exposed lakes and with the freezing temperatures and biting wind, by the end of the match not only were the anglers chilled to the bone but also their keepnets, landing nets and even elastics in poles were all frozen! The lake winner today with 35lb 13oz was Steve Hemmingray, Steve was on peg 20 and caught on the pole with groundbait and maggot and also had roach short on caster. Second was Mark Harper on peg 3, Mark caught at 13 meters with dead maggot over groundbait for a weight of 24lb 2oz. Andy Moors on peg 16 was third with 22lb 7oz, Andy caught on the pole with groundbait & maggot. Terry Winter had the next best weight on the lake; Terry was on peg 17 and caught on caster for a weight of 15lb 3oz.
Section Winners
Steve Hemmingray peg 20 6 points 35lb 13oz
Mark Harper peg 3 6 points 24lb 2oz
At the mid-way point of the festival here is how the top ten currently stands.
| Name | Points | Weight | |
| 1st | Clint Elliott | 17 points | 72lb 12oz |
| 2nd | Callum Dicks | 16 points | 91lb 11oz |
| 3rd | Mark Harper | 16 points | 53lb 9oz |
| 4th | Simon Fry | 15 points | 65lb 3oz |
| 5th | Dan Varney | 15 points | 64lb 5lz |
| 6th | Dave Pickering | 15 points | 46lb 8oz |
| 7th | Jon Arthur | 15 points | 42lb 3oz |
| 8th | Terry Winter | 15 points | 39lb 4oz |
| 9th | Derek Hammond | 14 points | 47lb 2oz |
| 10th | Harry Billing | 14 points | 46lb 9oz |
Points won and lost today have seen another shake up in the top ten today with no one now on maximum points, with two days left of the festival and a dropped result to come in the equation there is still everything to play for.
The weather is still very unpredictable at the moment and despite numerous forecasts they still don't seem to be getting it quite right for down here - but at least we have missed out on the snow.
The draw for day for has taken place and there are a few anglers that have backed out of the festival so we have tried to take out the pegs that have really not fished well to give everyone a fair chance to catch today, it is also not quite as cold but still bitter. Join us tomorrow for the penultimate update of the festival.
Day Four
The temperature wasn't quite as cold last night but the lakes were still heavily iced up in this ongoing cold spell.
It was also a kinder day for the anglers as the wind had dropped and it wasn't quite as cold a day
By the end of the match today we will know who is in with a shot and for though although their festival is over it is great to see they are still fishing in this weather.
A Section Sycamore
Another tough day on Sycamore but at least all the anglers managed to catch today - even if it was just one fish for some. Pete Randle won the lake today with 21lb 4oz; Pete was on peg 15 and caught on the pole with worm. Second on peg 14 was Dave Holland, Dave caught on the waggler with maggot for a weight of 18lb 10oz. Third with 15lb 2oz was Callum Dicks, Callum caught on the waggler with maggot from peg 8. The next best weight was 10lb 10oz and this came from Mikey Williams on peg 12, Mike also caught on the waggler with maggot.
Section Winners
Pete Randle peg 15 6 points 21lb 4oz
Callum Dicks peg 8 6 points 15lb 2oz
B Section Pollawyn/Python
It was once again a long day for the anglers fishing the Pollawyn pegs of this section but at least a few more of them managed to land a few fish today although nobody's weight troubled the scales men. Python fished consistently again and was close for the section points. The lake winner today with 17lb 5oz was Dave Pickering on Python peg 11, Dave caught on the pole at 13 meters with maggot. Second on Python peg 14 was Tony Morton, Tony caught on the pole with maggot and weighed in with 15lb 2oz. Third was Jack Valkenburg, Jack was on Python peg 12 and caught on maggot for a weight of 13lb 9oz. The next best weight came from Derek Hammond on Python peg 15 with 11lb 9oz
Section Winners
Dave Pickering peg 11 6 points 17lb 5oz
Mark Warren peg 23 6 points 2lb 2oz
C Section Pollawyn
Pollawyn carried on its form today as in previous days where all the weights are coming from the middle part of the section. Usually in a match an end peg can be an advantage but this is definitely proving not to be the case in this cold weather. It was a tie for the lake winner with both Giles Cochrane and Micky Vials weighing in with 19lb 3oz. Giles was on peg 17 and caught on the waggler with caster and Micky caught at 14.5 meters with groundbait from peg 25. Second with 9lb 3oz was Matt Stockton, Matt was on peg 26 at caught at 16 meters with maggot. Kian Wardle had the next best weight on peg 15 with 7lb 8oz, Kian caught on the pole with maggot.
Section Winners
Micky Vials peg 25 6 points 19lb 3oz
Giles Cochrane peg 17 6 points 19lb 3oz
Grant Albutt peg 27 6 points 5lb 12oz
D Section Jennys
It was another reasonable day up on Jennys with all the anglers managing to land a few fish and the weights were close for the overall positions as well as fairly tight for the all important points. The lake winner today with 25lb 6oz was Adam Wakelin, Adam was on peg 20 and caught short on bread and caster. Second was Lee Edwards, Lee caught on maggots at 16 meters from peg 8 for a weight of 22lb 11oz. Darren Cox weighed in with 20lb 13oz to take third, Darren caught roach and a few skimmers over caster from peg 16. Gary Hamilton on peg 3 had the next best weight with 20lb 6oz; Gary caught skimmers on the pole.
Section Winners
Adam Wakelin peg 20 6 points 25lb 6oz
Lee Edwards peg 8 6 points 22lb 11oz
E Section Trelawney
Trelawney is still producing good weights for the anglers which is great as this lake seems to be the most iced over each morning, it is also fishing quite fairly as the overall winning weights and the weights for the section points seem to be coming from across the board. Steve Sanders on peg 10 took the lake win today with 37lb 10oz, Steve caught on the pole with maggot. Second with a weight of 27lb 6oz was Andy Moors, Andy caught on maggot & pinkie over groundbait from peg 25. Third came from Mark Harper on peg 29 with 14lb 2oz, Mark caught on the long pole with dead maggot. Terry Winter had the next best weight on the lake; Terry was on peg 15 and weighed in with 13lb 12oz caught on maggot.
Section Winners
Steve Sanders peg 10 6 points 37lb 10oz
Andy Moors peg 25 6 points 27lb 6oz
As we go in to the final day here is how the current top ten looks
| Name | Points | Weight | |
| 1st | Callum Dicks |
22 points | 106lb 13oz |
| 2nd | Mark Harper | 21 points | 67lb 11oz |
| 3rd | Dave Pickering | 21 points | 63lb 13oz |

| 7th | Terry Winter | 20 points | 53lb |
| 8th | Dan Varney | 19 points | 65lb 3oz |
| 9th | Lee Edwards | 19 points | 60lb 11oz |
| 10th | Harry Billing | 19 points | 51lb 4oz |
Twists and turns in the top ten once again today and it looks set to be an exciting end to the festival as at this point we really do not have a clear winner, both the points and weights are close at the top so it could go anyway once the dropped result also comes in to play.
As we go in to the final day once again it has been bitterly cold overnight and has been trying to snow - although no where near on the scale the rest of the country is experiencing. We once again staggered the draw for the final day of the festival as all of the lakes are heavily frozen this morning including those pegs that had been free from ice in the previous days.
For some their festival was over at the draw bag this morning but have valiantly decided to fish but for others there is still hope of a good result so it could come down too a nail biting festival. Despite being one of the coldest mornings it is turning out to be a milder day and at the presentation tonight the anglers have a free pint and a hog roast to look forward too.
Day Five
It has been one of the worst mornings of the festival today with even those lakes that had previously been un-touched by the ice totally frozen over. The four boys from the fisheries team were all in from 7am clearing the ice the best they could but no sooner were they clearing it the lakes was re-freezing again!
The draw was staggered so that the anglers that were on the lakes where the channels had been broken out for them could draw and then go and clear their pegs.
At the end of today the dropped result will come in to play, there are some anglers that can afford to loose a few points with a bad draw but for others a dip into the bag could mean game over. We are anticipating a close result at the end of the festival today.
It was another shockingly cold day on the lakes but the lakes that have been fishing well have once again produced some good weights today but those that have been fishing hard, fished even harder today and a number of the anglers that were out of the festival running left early.
A Section Pollawyn/Python
Python once again produced all the weights in this section today with the points of Pollawyn being the worst they had all week. The lake winner and picking up another section win with 39lb 12oz was Callum Dicks, Callum was on Python peg 11 and caught on the pole with maggot over groundbait. Clint Elliott on Python peg 12 was second, Clint caught on the pole at 13 meters with pinkie over groundbait and squatt and weighed in with 21lb 6oz. Andy Dare on Python peg 15 was third with 15lb 5oz.
Section Winners
Callum Dicks peg 11 6 points 39lb 12oz
Simon Fry peg 23 6 points 1lb 1oz
B Section Pollawyn
It was also the hardest day of the week on Pollawyn with the usual pegs winning the sections but with a lot lower weights than in previous days. Today's lake winner with 18lb 10oz was Dan Varney; Dan was on peg 25 and caught on the long pole with maggots over groundbait. Second, also catching on the long pole with maggot over groundbait was Derek Hammond, Derek was on peg 17 and had a weight of 15lb 3oz. Third with 12lb 10oz was Tony Morton, Tony caught on the pole with maggot from peg 18. The next best weight came from Jon Arthur on peg 28; Jon caught 4 skimmers and 5 roach on maggot at 16 meters for a weight of 7lb
Section Winners
Dan Varney peg 25 6 points 18lb 10oz
Jon Arthur peg 28 6 points 7lb
C Section Jennys
Jennys once again produced the better and more consistent weights across the sections today, despite being one of the most frozen lakes every day it has fished well demonstrating why it is one of the best lakes on the complex. Micky Vials was the lake winner today on peg 20, Micky caught at 6 meters on caster and weighed in with 26lb 11oz. Second with 24lb 6oz was Steve Waters, Steve was on peg 16 and caught on maggot over groundbait. Tommy Pickering was third, Tommy was on peg 15 and caught 80 fish on the pole with maggot over groundbait for a weight of 21lb 13oz. The next best weight came from Grant Albutt on peg 7 with 17lb 2oz, Grant caught on maggot over groundbait.
Section Winners
Micky Vials peg 20 6 points 26lb 11oz
Grant Albutt peg 7 6 points 17lb 2oz
D Section Trelawney
Trelawney also fished well today and even though it was a struggle for the anglers to clear the broken ice from their pegs once they were clear there were plenty of bites to be had. Lee Edwards on peg 10 won the lake today with 44lb 11oz, Lee caught on the pole with maggot. Second with 41lb 12oz was Paul Yates, Paul caught about 50 F1's at 13 meters on maggot over groundbait from peg 28. Darren Cox was on peg 26 and was third with 29lb 10oz, Darren caught on maggot & pinkie over groundbait. The next best weight was 26lb 4oz and this came from Steve Mayo on peg 23, Steve caught on the long pole with maggot and the short pole with caster.
Section Winners
Lee Edwards peg 10 6 points 44lb 11oz
Paul Yates peg 28 6 points 41lb 12oz
E Section Sycamore
Unfortunately for the anglers on Sycamore this was by far the worst day of the week on the lake today and only 4 of the 12 anglers managed to get a bite, even the pegs that had thrown up some weights did not fish today and it remained heavily iced up for most of the day. The lake winner with 3lb was Boz Phillips; Boz was on peg 6 and caught on the waggler with maggot. Steve Hemmingray was second with 2lb 7oz from peg 10B and third on peg 5 with 2lb 2oz was Chris Martin
Section Winners
Boz Phillips peg 6 6 points 3lb
Steve Hemmingray peg 10 6 points 2lb 7oz
That was all the action from the final day of the festival and once the dropped result had been taken into account here is how the final results looked.

Following on from his 2008 victory and 5th place last year Callum Dicks has once again re-claimed his title and is our White Acres Garbolino/Mosella festival champion 2010.
All the chaps that have fished this year deserve a medal for fishing in conditions like we have never seen down here before - although those of them from further a field are more used to breaking the ice where as it is a rarity for us down here.
Taking all things into consideration with the weather and having to change the pegging last minute it has turned out to be another great and nail biting festival with a number of anglers tied on results and dropped points so it had to go to weight to get the overall positions.

Many thanks to our sponsors Garbolino's Darren Cox and Mosella's Vic Bush for their prizes and for Darren presenting the prizes at the presentation.
Again thank you and congratulations to all of the anglers that fished (especially those who stuck out the full five days) and well done again to this years top three winners Callum Dicks (Maver), Lee Edwards (Preston Innovations) and our very own Clint Elliott (Preston Innovations).
We hope the extreme weather hasn't put the anglers off to much as we are already looking forward to next years festival but ice breakers will definitely be allowed next year!
Thank you all once again and to all our anglers and web supporters we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Cheers, Kirsty
